Mia Wasikowska was born and raised in Canberra, Australia to mother Marzena Wasikowska, a Polish born photographer, and father John Reid, an Australian photographer and artist. She has an older sister Jess, and a younger brother Kai. At age eight the whole family upped sticks and moved to Poland for a year because her mother received a grant to produce a body of photographic work recounting her experiences in moving to Australia in 1974 when she was just eleven years of age. The three young children took part in the photographic production - just doing what kids do - nothing was staged or planned. Upon returning to Canberra a year or so later the nine year old Mia started ballerina training at the Canberra Dance Development Centre with her sights set upon a professional career. Aside from a full time school career to gain an education, she was ballet training for 35 hours per week - a gruelling routine! By 14 however, she was disillusioned and feeling the increasing pressure of perfection, so she quit. Having been exposed to a number of European and Australian films in her youth she gained the inspiration and the motivation to pursue a career in acting. With no prior acting experience she made contact with a dozen or so Australian talent agencies to secure roles - only one ever bothered to call her back.

It was 2004 and Wasikowska secured her first acting role on two episodes of the Australian Hospital drama series 'All Saints'. In 2006 she scored her first film acting role on 'Suburban Mayhem' which garnered her the Young Actors AFI Award. This led to 'Rogue' in 2007 with Sam Worthington and Radha Mitchell, and that same year 'September' with Xavier Samuel.

At 17 she was to receive her break in the US when she was cast in HBO's 'In Treatment'. For this she needed to leave Canberra High School for her role as Sophie in nine episodes while basing herself in Los Angeles for three months. She earned critical praise for her performance alongside Gabriel Bryne. This in turn led to her being cast by Edward Zwick in 'Defiance' with Daniel Craig and Jamie Bell - playing the wife of the latter actor, with whom she has subsequently maintained a strong friendship.

Following this came the 2009 bio-pic 'Amelia' starring Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor and Hilary Swank charting the life, the ups & downs of early aviator Amelia Earhart. Later that year she was also cast in the acclaimed 'That Evening Sun' with Hal Holbrook and had the distinction of being the only non-American actor in this southern states based film due to her strong ability to mimic the required southern American accent.

After a series of auditions she was chosen for the role of Alice in Tim Burton's 2010 'Alice in Wonderland' with Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman and Stephen Fry. The film went on to make in excess of US$1B at the global Box Office, resulting in a sequel, currently in post-production for a mid-2016 release - 'Alice Through the Looking Glass'.

From here she went to 'The Kids Are All Right' with Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, and Annette Bening. This was followed up by her lead role in the much praised 'Jane Eyre' opposite Michael Fassbender, Judi Dench and Jamie Bell again, with 'Restless' for Director Gus Van Sant coming that same year. She was due to appear in the Australian independent film of 'Sleeping Beauty' but turned this down due to scheduling conflicts with the aforementioned 'Restless'. She then turned down Robert Redford's 'The Conspirator'  due to a commitment on 'Restless' also, and she withdrew from an audition having been shortlisted for David Fincher's 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' as Lisbeth Salander. Instead she opted for 'Albert Nobbs' with Glenn Close for which she replaced, at the eleventh hour, Amanda Seyfried.

In 2011 there was a supporting role to Shia LaBeouf in John Hillcoat's 'Lawless' and then 'Stoker' with Nicole Kidman and Jacki Weaver. 2012 brought 'The Double' for Richard Ayoade and starring Jesse Eisenberg and Noah Taylor, and then Jim Jarmusch's 'Only Lovers Left Alive' with Tilda Swinton. 'Tracks' followed, recounting the Australian sand to sea odyssey of Robyn Davidson which appeared in competition at the Venice Film Festival.

2014 saw David Cronenberg's 'Maps to the Stars' with Julianne Moore and John Cusack, and then the lead role in 'Madame Bovary' with Paul Giamatti and Rhys Ifans. Next up, is the due for imminent release 'Crimson Peak' for Guillermo del Toro also starring Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain, and then the sequel to the hugely successful earlier 'Alice' film 'Alice Through the Looking Glass' for Director (this time) James Bobin due for mid-2016, and 'HHHH' also due in 2016 and currently in pre-production.

Wasikowska has 32 acting credits to her name, and two Writer/Director credits also for 'Madly' and 'The Turning'. She has eight award wins and another 34 nominations in her relatively short career so far.

Mia Wasikowska - avid photographer and so following in her parents footsteps; mostly flying under that radar but still to much critical acclaim; lives in the Sydney beach suburb of Bronte; dating co-star Jesse Eisenberg; and has appeared in numerous short films and full length features - we wish you a very Happy Birthday from your followers at Odeon Online. Best Wishes.

Andrew James Matfin 'Jamie' Bell was born in Billingham, County Durham, England to mother Eileen Matfin and father John Bell, a toolmaker, who left his wife Eileen before Jamie was born. Jamie has an older sister Cathryn. The young Jamie Bell was a pupil at the co-educational Northfields School in Billingham, and his involvement with dance began when he accompanied his sister to her ballet class, and was eventually invited in to the class to take part.Whilst at school he also attended the Stagecoach Theatre Arts School - a global franchise providing training in dance, acting and singing to children aged 4-18. He was a member too of the National Youth Music Theatre.

His screen debut is the stuff of legend with his first role on film and television came with 2000's 'Billy Elliott' for which he was chose from 2000 hopefuls over seven different auditions. Director Stephen Daldry was looking for a young lad who could act, dance and carry the required northern English accent - and he found this in Bell. The film won 57 awards worldwide and a further 62 nominations - including three Academy Award nominations, two Golden Globe nominations, the BAFTA for Bell for Best Lead Actor and two other BAFTA wins and another nine nominations. Bell won fifteen awards for his role as Billy Elliott. The film cost just US$5M to make and grossed in the final analysis US$109M - a bona fide success on all levels!

Later that same year he starred in a single episode of televisions 'Close & True'. His next big screen appearance was in the 2002 British horror film 'Deathwatch' with Andy Serkis, and also that year an adaptation of the Charles Dickens book 'Nicholas Nickleby' which included amongst others Timothy Spall, Jim Broadbent and Anne Hathaway. 'Undertow' came next in 2004 with Dermot Mulroney and Josh Lucas, and then three films in 2005 with 'Dear Wendy', 'The Chumscrubber' and Peter Jackson's remake of 'King Kong' with Andy Serkis again and Naomi Watts and Jack Black.

2006 brought another offering with big time Acting and Directing legend Clint Eastwood in 'Flags of our Fathers'. 'Hallam Foe' came along in 2007 with the Doug Liman Directed 'Jumper' in 2008 with Hayden Christensen, and then 'Defiance' for Edward Zwick with co-star Daniel Craig.

In 2011 we saw Bell in Kevin Macdonald's 'The Eagle' with Channing Tatum, 'Jane Eyre' with Mia Wasikowska, another British horror offering with 'The Retreat' and then with Steven Spielberg for 'The Adventures of Tintin' providing the voice of Tintin, alongside Andy Serkis and Daniel Craig once more. 'Man on a Ledge' came in 2012, 'Snowpiercer' in 2013 and 'Filth' that same year too, and Lars von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac : Vol II' also.

In 2014 he starred in the American period war drama television series 'Turn : Washington's Spies' now in its second season. Currently in post-production is the Marvel reboot of 'Fantastic Four' with Bell playing the role of 'The Thing' with this film due out later this year, with 'The Fantastic Four 2' announced recently for a 2017 release. In between time there will also be 'The Adventures of Tintin : Prisoner's of the Sun' in 2016 with Director Peter Jackson once more and Bell reprising his role as Tintin in providing his voice talents.

He started dating American Actress Evan Rachael Wood in 2005 but the two split in twelve months later. In 2011 the two rekindled their flame and in late October 2012 they married . . . but announced their separation in mid-2014. They have a son together born in July 2013.

Bell has sixteen award wins and seventeen other nominations to his name, from 26 acting credits so far. Only he and Christian Bale have won the Outstanding Performance by a Young Actor Award from the US National Board of Review.

Jamie Bell - still only 29 and so much achieved! Describing yourself as the Eminem of Northeast England, and not delusional, knowing that you are only 5'7" tall with slightly jug ears you nonetheless continue to make you mark with years of opportunity ahead with which to surprise and delight your audience - Happy Birthday to you, from Odeon Online.

Daniel Wroughton Craig was born in Chester, Cheshire, England to Carol Olivia Williams - an art teacher, and father Timothy John Wroughton Craig a publican and former Merchant Navy midshipman. He attended primary school in the small country towns of Frodsham and Holyoke and then Hilbre High School in West Kirby. At 16, he moved to Calday Grange Grammar School also in West Kirby as a sixth form student - but only briefly. His interest in acting started at age six and his mother took him to acting classes at Liverpool's Everyman Theatre. He appeared in several school productions, including 'Oliver', 'Romeo & Juliette' and 'Cinderella'. He moved to London at 16 following his brief time at Calday Grange Grammar School, having been accepted into the National Youth Theatre to tour Manchester and then Valencia and Moscow.

He joined the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he studied for three years graduating in 1991 having studied with the likes of Ewan McGregor, Damian Lewis, Joseph Fiennes and Alistair McGowan. In 1993, Craig appeared in a Royal National Theatre production of 'Angels in America', but it was in 1992 that his big screen debut came in the adaptation of the Bryce Courtenay novel 'The Power of One'. For the next few years he worked in television starring in 'Anglo Saxon Attitudes', 'Boon' and 'Covington Cross' in 1992 and then 'Sharpe's Eagle', episodes of 'Zorro', 'Drop the Dead Donkey', 'The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, 'Between the Lines' 'Heartbeat' and 'Screen Two' all in 1993. Over the following years he appeared in 'A Kid in King Arthur's Court' with Kate Winslet, 'Saint Ex' with Bruno Ganz, 'Elizabeth' with Cate Blanchett, and a few others that flew under the radar to close out the decade.

From here on things began to ramp up for Craig with 'Love & Rage', 'I Dreamed of Africa', 'Some Voices' and 'Hotel Splendide' all in 2000. It was however, he role opposite Angelina Jolie in the 2001 'Lara Croft : Tomb Raider' that brought him to Hollywood's attention with the Sam Mendes Directed and Tom Hanks and Paul Newman starring 'Road to Perdition' that followed in 2002. His starring role in 'Layer Cake' in 2004 added further shine to his rising star which was followed up by 'The Jacket' with Adrien Brody and Keira Knightley, 'Munich' starring Eric Bana and Directed by Steven Spielberg, 'Infamous' with Toby Jones, and then his first outing as James Bond, 007, in 'Casino Royale'  Directed by Martin Campbell.

Cementing his role as Bond for the first time with a Box Office haul of US$600M and numerous award wins and nominations, before his next outing as everybody's favourite spy he appeared with Nicole Kidman in 'The Invasion', and again with Nicole Kidman in 'The Golden Compass'. 2008 followed up with 'Quantum of Solace' for Bond once again bringing in US$586M and again a slew of award wins and nominations - but not quite the success of its 'Casino Royale' predecessor.

'Defiance' was next with Live Schreiber and Jamie Bell later in 2008, 'Cowboys and Aliens' with Harrison Ford in 2011, 'Dream House' in 2011 also with Naomi Watts and Rachael Weisz, 'The Adventures of Tin Tin' for Director Steven Spielberg to which Craig gave his voice talents to Red Rackham and Sakharine, and then the Hollywood remake of 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' with Rooney Mara for Director David Fincher.

Craig's third outing as James Bond came in 2012 with the hugely successful 'Skyfall' which also marked the 50th anniversary of the franchise that kicked-off with 'Dr. No' in 1962. 'Skyfall' to a global Box Office of US$1.1B+ making it the most financially successful Bond film of all time and putting it in the Top 10 of most successful films of all time . . . currently sat in ninth place.

2012 saw Craig playing perhaps the role of his life as James Bond saving (the real) HRH Queen Elizabeth II as part of an opening ceremony sketch for the London Summer Olympic games which was seen by a global audience of in excess of 1.5 billion television viewers.  From late 2013 to early 2014 Craig and his wife Rachael Weisz starred in the Broadway play 'Betrayal'. 'Spectre' is currently filming for a late 2015 release which will be Craig's fourth starring role as Bond with 'Bond 25' recently released to which Craig has committed. In the meantime 'The Girl who Played with Fire' has been announced with David Fincher on Directing duty and Craig reprising his role as Mikael Blomqvist.

Craig has 65 acting credits to his name, and a total 12 award wins and 23 other nominations. In 1992 he married actress Fiona Loudon and divorced two years later in 1994. This led to a seven year relationship with German actress Heike Makatsch which ended in 2001 and then Satsuki Mitchell from 2005 until 2010. In late 2010 he began dating long term friend and former co-star Rachael Weisz (whose birthday it is later on this week on 7th March) and the two were married in mid-2011. Craig has a daughter - eighteen year old daughter Ella from his first marriage. He supports several charities such as 'S.A.F.E. Kenya' using street theatre to tackle social issues, HIV/AIDS, water supply and violence against women. Also 'Opportunity Network' is supported to provide education access to New York's low income students, and Craig has worked too with former co-star Judi Dench on International Women's Day causes.

Daniel Craig - blond haired, blue eyed, rugged appearance, muscular framed, deep smooth voiced and the man who reinvigorated Bond into a Box Office sensation. Firmly established now as a bona fide cinematic draw card, and all round nice guy, Happy Birthday to you from Odeon Online.
